Annabeth y Percy growing that love is chef kiss

It definitely dragged and I preferred the second book over this one in terms of action and interest but the characters were likable and it was nice seeing zoe’s  progression over the  story and her belief in percy developing

I really wish I could rate this book a 3.5, but I didn't really want to round up. Regardless, this is a very interesting book with Love! Loss! Death and near-death experiences! Action! Scary monsters! Not so scary monsters! I really enjoy how this series has been developed, and I've been devouring these books incredibly quickly so that I can just get to the next one and find out what happens all the time. Again, I realize this is technically a children's series, but it's so clever and witty and the characters are so relatable and ridiculous at times that it feels like it's built for a more intelligent audience. And then, the twist at the end of this book! WOW! Stuff is about to go down! I'm ready for my next set!

I enjoyed the book, although not as much as the first two. It did give me the vibe of a filler-novel and I wasn't super interested in the actual plot itself.

It was a little hard to follow new characters who I didn't really care about while seeing relatively little of 2/3 main characters.

Although speaking of characters, I am starting to understand Percy and the way he thinks. It's wonderful to see his own transformation and acceptance of his new role in the world. He's also becoming very sassy and funny.

I am very excited to see where the story will go and I hope we can start to see more action from the gods and have the war start to finally advance.

What continues to work for me is the writing itself. I think because there's not so much description or additional details, it's a super fast read and considering the shenanigans that the kids get up to, it works very well. It does also give the impression that younger readers would enjoy the series overall as there is a lot of action and dialogue but its neither overly poetic or descriptive. This isn't a bad thing at all, simply an impression and I do wonder if my younger self would have been more enthralled by the series.

It's still a good time. I can't wait to find out what happens next to Percy and maybe we can get some more character development.

I’m reading every Rick Riordan book in the month of July! This is a reread for me, and I give it a 4/5

I think I'm becoming an addict. I quite liked this book even more than I liked the last one. I just love characters that I can connect with and that I care about.

But really, if you learn anything from a story, do not trust a disembodied voice. They will always lead you to trouble. As Arthur Weasley said: "Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain."

The story is building and I can't wait to see what will happen next! Definitely the sign of a good series!

Imperfect heroes and gods fighting chaotic sources that seem to have tipped the scale to their advantage in a great war yet to come is the major plot, not very enthusiastic but definitely worth reading to get a grasp on the concepts for the next books in the series.
