Haikyū!! Is such a well balanced manga! Continually impressed by how Furudate keeps matches against varying teams interesting, whether you’re a sports fan or not. The player growth on and off the court is poignant, eloquently narrated and doesn’t overrun us with too much backstory. There’s always a bit of goofiness to enjoy amidst the challenges characters face and it all flows so naturally.

If I want to be honest, Johzenji is one of the few that has the least aura to leave a big impression. However, they still have such a good storyline, albeit fleeting, that showcases their volleyball motto and bond.

edit 05/2025: the day hq fans acknowledge how great of a character daichi is instead of making "dead daichi" jokes every time he's mentioned is the day I finally know peace.
