This was sooo fast paced and fun to read, and I REALLY wanted it to be a 5 star read, but in the end it did disappoint a bit. I wish there was more of a plot twist. Personally, I figured out the storyline just by reading the back of the book even before starting to actually read it. I was really wishing that there would be more to it, but in the end there wasn’t anything shocking revealed. The only twist I didn’t see coming was
that Hanna was seeing Theo
, and that wasn’t one bit significant to the storyline whatsoever, actually just a bit confusing why the author put that in there. There were some similar details in the book that just didn’t bear any significance and were a bit unnecessary.

I feel like the writing was very good and I couldn’t put it down, was really intrigued. But it wasn’t a psychological thriller to me, more just like a devastating story about
a child being kidnapped and abused
.

After reading none of this is true (which was amazing) this wasn't what I expected, but good nonetheless. It was an easy page turning thriller with predictable twists. The only thing I didn't predict was the Hanna situation, but it didn't end up being relevant really. It's an interesting approach, but I mostly enjoy being in the dark for thrillers with guessable but not obvious twists, think the silent patient. That being said, I read this in two days and didn't want to stop reading. The thing I found myself curious about wasn't solving the mystery itself, but how the characters would react to solving said mystery and how that would change their situation/relationship, which captivated me well enough. It was never boring and I was always curious about what would happen next, making this an easy thriller rec.

I loved this book. Ive not read many mystery/ thriller books before so perhaps I need to get more into them. I loved the characters and the plot and the ending. I was feeling everything the characters were and My emotions were up and down. I loved how the book shows the reality of a loss of a family member and how it can sometimes break a family apart rather than bringing them closer together. I loved the deep feelings that Laurel was showing and how it made me feel. What happened to Ellie was destroying and shocking and left me feeling twists in my stomach. I love when a book can make me feel the emotions of the characters. I am glad poppy had her happy ending and that she wasn't left in the sidelines. Ive read many books that contain multiple perspectives but I've never read one with this many. I didn't know if i liked it or disliked it at first but now I realise it had me knowing the characters more and understanding their different opinions.
