Predictable and a bit drawn out but OK for a palette cleanser.

This was my first Lisa Jewell book, and I was not impressed. I figured it out like 6 chapters in and that still did not prepare me for the ending.

How on Earth can the just go on like a happy normal family. Floyd just kills himself with no consequences like he doesn't have another child to take care of. They "adopt" Poppy and she just fine with finding out her life was a lie? Laurel was not the best mom in the first place, but I guess we are just supposed to slide past that and forgive her like the rest of the family.

Really good plot - Lisa Jewell does her usual with slow reveals and creating more questions as you read but it didn’t have a big twist in the end.

If I had to compare between “None of this is true” and “The Family Upstairs,” “None of this is true” would be my #1, with “Then She was Gone” ranking 3rd. With all the information given, I was hoping for something bigger - some characters and their actions were questionable - now knowing they were red herrings but I feel as if one could’ve held true?

Some sad moments throughout from a mothers perspective (and the child harmed of course), but in the end, I think the characters involved got what they deserved.
