A really good thriller that had me hoping things would work out for Ellie and that she would find a way out. I enjoyed the multiple POVs and the alternating timelines. Will be seeking out more from Lisa Jewell.

dark mysterious

Ellie disappeared ten years ago and her mother, Laurel, has never stopped looking for her. She meets Floyd who instantly sweeps her off her feet. Things are going well until she’s introduced to his daughter, Poppy, who looks identical to Ellie.

This was my first book by Lisa Jewell and I really enjoyed her writing style. However, I figured out the main twist very early on and just had to connect the dots on how everything happened. It was unfortunately realistic which makes thrillers that much more scary in my opinion. I’ll definitely be reading more by Jewell.

Look I’m not going to lie this was such a slow start and I didn’t care and thought about DNFing because I was so bored, but it did get more interesting and I actually cried doubting the ending, but that might be because of my PMS.
