Quick easy read, found it to be enjoyable but very predictable. I found Poppy's character to not be very believable but otherwise it was a good book.  Finished it in a day

this book was SO good. i finished it one day, every twist and turn was unexpected, the writing was paced perfectly and detailed well. the author managed to tell a heartbreaking story, create in-depth characters, and include clues & twists all throughout this book - i highly recommend reading this.

This is a fairly standard, predictable, but fast paced thriller. I guessed what was going to happen within the first thirty pages, but it was still intriguing and the writing was fast paced enough to keep my interest. Also, my copy had big font. I LOVE a book with big font, I’m talking at least size 12, so I don’t have to squint or hold my book close to my face (yes I do need glasses). Guessing the plot at the very beginning of the book obviously isn’t a good sign, but finding a book that you can easily read even when your brain is filled with a noxious fog, well that’s a gem.

Anyway, I love the whole kidnapped/captive theme. I don’t know why, but it always keeps me interested. So when I saw this one in the charity shop I thought it was a good find. My brain hasn’t been working very well the last few days, and so I thought this would probably be an easy read- it was! I love the character of Ellie, what an absolute angel. None of the other characters are great, but they’re also not particularly unlikeable. After reading this one I’d definitely give some other Lisa Jewell’s a try!

This book is not for me it’s way too dark and tense for my liking, I hate reading the torture and abuse. I had a feeling the mystery would unveil itself as it did but it was still a bit shocking. The grueling details at the end are very sad and disturbing.

This was a thrilling book! I enjoyed the mystery in the story. I think that the twists and the ending was shocking and I did not expect it. I picked this up because a friend recommended it. Lisa Jewell did a great job writing a compelling mystery, but there was something that stopped me from giving it 5 stars. I do not know if it was the writing, or the pacing, or something else entirely. I think at times the stories did not seem to realistic for me personally.
