felt just like an arc in the Rebels show !! a fun adventure that i felt was a great introduction to both kanan and hera, as well as successfully introducing their relationship.
I loved this book! Kanan and Hera have become some of my favorite characters in the entire SW universe. Count Vidian was a fantastic villain with real motives. Rae Sloane continues to be one of the best characters from the new canon!

I am a Star Wars lover!!! So I had a lot of fun reading this. I was not super engaged with Hera's storyline in "Rebels", but I absolutely fell in love with her character in the show "Ahsoka," and this book solidified my love for her. Hera was a freedom fighter since childhood and getting to watch her progression from political dissident to Rebellion general is really interesting to me. Overall, I thought the writing was great and really enjoyed how the story focused more on sleuthing and intrigue than large-scale battle sequences. I thought the "side" characters were incredibly enjoyable, and I connected with them on a deeper level. While I personally don't care for Kanan or his character (regardless of media form) I thought the author did a good job incorporating his rash listlessness with his inherent Jedi need to look out for and take care of those around him His character underwent immense growth in this story. Overall, it was a really enjoyable read. My only critique is that a sequel was clearly being set up (as shown by the sequence of the resolution) and I really wish Disney/Star Wars had followed through with it - maybe a book for each member of the Ghost crew Hera welcomes aboard before the events of the show "Rebels" begins. I thought the commentary was well done, and provided a frighteningly realistic portrayal of capitalism, major corporations, imperial expansion, and their impacts on the socioeconomic standing and survival of the working class. I would definitely recommend this book!
My favorite quotes from the book were "Fear was understandable and forgivable-and no one expected [name] to do more than [they were] capable of. "But seeing and doing nothing isn't the worst thing, Hera had said, "The worst thing is to see and not to care. "
And
"Hera walked over and put a hand on his shoulder. "But you weren't hurt by one person." "You're right. It felt like an army." "You were hurt by a regime. You want vengeance against the hand that hurt you - or that killed [name]. But you wouldn't get justice. Not until everyone gets it."
