I'm slowly reaching the conclusion of this series and although I really enjoy the story, the mythology and the journey of the characters, I still hoped that this series had been that little bit more I was having in mind when asking for recommendations. It seems that emotional for me is not just in the plot, but also in the writing. However, I can't wait to see how the series eventually ends and how all pieces of the puzzle will click.

I understand that for a lot of readers this book was an emotional rollercoaster. There is so much going on, there is so much going wrong and the stakes are incredibly high. It's clear that something big is happening. It's clear that our characters are not as safe and eternal as they sometimes think they are and it's clear that emotionally the characters also have to endure quite a lot. It keeps the book captivating and also addictive.

However, for some reason, and it's hard to pinpoint why, I still can't truly connect with the characters and feel with them. I read about them, about their journeys, about their pain, about their discoveries, about their fights, but for some reason it doesn't really touch my soul. And that's okay. If every book would do that I'd end up emotionally exhausted, but since the book was recommended to me when asking for those kinda reads I can't help feeling a little disappointed.

And that's unfair towards the story and unfair towards the author. They are both amazing. James does a great job weaving this story. I can also totally see why so many people love it so much and why it feels like this is THE paranormal/fantasy reverse harem everyone should read. There is a love interest for everyone in there, because they are all different types of people. There is a plot-line for everyone to be invested in. So, please, if you're doubting about reading this series: Go for it!
