Read in isolation, the book probably holds up pretty well... but having read this after Brown's other books, the formulaic plot is really wearing thin.

This novel was fast paced and very typically Dan Brown.
While I enjoyed the storyline and did keep reading, there were a few bits of this story that irritated me. The first was how Susan turning into mush at the end and the second was how some of the supposed finest minds in cryptography couldn't work out a code that most readers deciphered in minutes.
Overall this gets 3 stars from me.

Disappointed in this book. A little predictable and not nearly as good as Brown's other books.

I read this book a while back in high school (10-15 years ago) and I loved it! Picked it up again and think something about it lost me in translation. Most likely the lack of cell phones and modern technology… especially when a book is centered around technology. So for that reason, I didn’t love it as much as I did before.
That being said, it still kept me hooked. The story itself is one that sucks you in, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Overall, 3 stars for keeping me engaged despite me feeling like I couldn’t connect with the book. I do plan on reading more Dan Brown. I feel like his more modern books will get me engaged, because the story itself does keep you engaged and turning the page.

As always Dan Brown has written a masterpiece. The storyline is wonderful and entirely believable. The characters are engaging and realistic. The descriptions of places and people create a perfect picture in a readers mind about what is going on. But most importantly, the puzzle is ingenious. There was no way I could put this book down, each new clue left me turning the pages even quicker, until I was basically shouting at the characters. This book certainly packs a powerful punch, would definitely recommend reading it to anyone.
