I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I found myself reading it slowly in the beginning and not quite being fully interested, it was not until the 100-page mark that I began flying through the book and becoming indulged in the story.

I love Adam, oh he is just a sweetheart. Even though he made some poor choices, he never truly meant to hurt anyone and he constantly wanted to do better and try harder for others. And the amount of love and care he has for his friendships when he valued his friendship with Jolene over anything else, I found that truly special. The things he was doing for Jolene, I would quite literally fall to the floor in a ball and melt away if someone were to do that for me. His brother was a bit of a goof tho.

Jolene has a special connection in my heart. Something that connects my family is pop culture and hearing her talk so passionately about movies and encouraging/bringing others into her world to experience the way she does had me feeling a connection to her. I enjoyed her personality too, she was a firecracker, and you never quite knew what you were going to get from her.

There was one thing that happened in this book that had me questioning whether this was young-adult...but I figured afterwards that it was an important topic that sadly many young girls experience and it is important to have a character that grows and heals from what has happened to her for others to find and connect with. Do check trigger warnings before reading.

The overall story truly made my heart melt. Having broken families coming back together, as well as, adapting to new ways of living, growing from mistakes, healing past wounds. It was a very family-centred story. it was beautiful to experience the growth and development of families coming together and finding our own families.

oh boy this was a long book. It took me a while to get the plot going in my head. the situation of the characters really intrigued me and made me want to know more about them. The number of pages this book was is crazy. but for me it didn't feel long after a while.

Okay, I just want to say that I was kinda disappointed when I finished the last page. Like, I would've liked it better if the author wrote more things about their future but instead,  the ending just feels unfinished.
Jolene: I was a bit annoyed by Jo sometimes. Like the stupid decisions she made during the book literally got me shouting at her big head. Although, I loved her dry personality and her funny jokes and the way she doesn't care of what anyone thinks of her.
Adam: I thought Adam was very sweet and caring during some parts but could also be a bit hot-headed and tense. He could be very thoughtful to Jo but could also be a jerk to his Dad/brother.
In conclusion, this book was a cute little romance but I probably won't ever think about it again and won't recommend it to anyone.

This was a very very hard read. I'm used to happy light hearted romance book and this definitely was not. It took me longer to read that usual.

But i think I loved it. I loved how real it was, I've never read book where every moment felt real and relatable to me. I LOVED the characters and I understood why they loved each other.

Heartbreaking and beautiful. Great Read!

I came into this story without much knowledge of the plot. I heard good things about the book, so jumped in mostly blind.

I thought this was strictly a YA romance novel. It is so much more than that.

The story centers around Jolene and Adam; both finding themselves involved in issues developed within their families. However, they both are vastly different. While one family is cracked due to grief, the other is unrepairable and full of spite. As the story progresses, we get to see both characters grow not only their feelings and their definition of love, but grow as young teens while dealing with some complicated emotions.

I come from a divorced family,  so I may be biased in how much I enjoyed the story. However, I thought it did a good job of bringing the emotions of the characters to the reader.

Trigger warning - there are mentions of toxic relationships, eating disorders, alcoholism, as well as sexual assault.
