3.54 AVERAGE

Daphne Chambers 4.0 GPA, teachers’ pet, and all around know it all is who we get to follow through this short novella length book. This series is set in the Obscure World with other series set within the same world and one follows her best friend Mona. This book is set before Mona’s first book giving us a little peek at Mona and her situation while getting to know Daphne. This book is all about finding a lost family spell in a locked away grimoire and her guy drama. In this book her brother’s best friend AND her childhood sweetheart are both pining away for her while she’s dating a vampire. It is a short book and it mostly follows her romance with a little bit of drama caused by the lost family spell. There’s not much substance to the book, just cute little read.

This was a great read. I thought the story was very well written and flowed well. The story kept me glued to the pages to see how everything would turn out. I loved the characters and had this read in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.

Was an okay read. Felt more like the intro to a book than a whole book though.

This is a fun quick read. We see Daphne and Ryan trying to find an old spell. She gets close to a vampire and things don’t go as planned. I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

The narration by Kate Richardson was well done. She did a good job bringing the story and characters to life.

Really enjoyed Daphne’s character, she was likable and her relationships with other characters were enjoyable to observe. Story does end with a bit of a cliffhanger, can’t wait to read the next book.. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I've been wanting to read this series ever since I read the Grimalkin Academy Kittens series. I really liked the setting, I liked the characters and I was quite curious to read Daphne's story and adventure. I was therefore very happy when Greenwood offered arcs for the complete series on BookSprout. This morning I could finally dive into the first installment.

What I really loved about this series is that Greenwood doesn't waste words and time on lengthy descriptions and info-dumps. And even though that means we don't have all the information, it's easy enough to follow what is going on and what Daphne and her brother Ryan are actually trying to achieve.

I also quite enjoyed the blossoming relationship between Daphne and Heath. Their date was incredibly cute and I loved how it was not this perfect date where they both said exactly the right thing all the time. They were sometimes being a little insecure and awkward and yet they kept on liking each other anyway.

It's also quite clear that we have some amazing things waiting for us in the next books. I can't wait to learn more about the teacher, who's quite clearly not who she says she is, and I also can't wait to see how the cliffhanger is gonna be resolved and if Daphne will find a way to really turn into a cat eventually!

I hope to have time to dive into the second book tomorrow!

Daphne is a witch that just wants good grades, enjoy time with her best friend, and be the best witch she can be. Her brother, her twin, wants to find out if a rumor about their family and its secrets are true. So he convinces Daphne to try to get a vampire to date her.

Hijinks, broken noses, too many boys interested, and you have the beginnings of what I feel is going to be a great series. The adventure continues in book 2, Catching A Wizard.

I love Laura's writing style and her books are always a pleasure to read.. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

dark funny lighthearted mysterious fast-paced

Catching a Vampire by Laura Greenwood is a slow burn paranormal academy with a reverse harem theme that I listened to on audio narrated by Kate Richardson. This is book one in the Grimalkin Academy: Catacombs.

I just love Laura’s books. They always leave me begging for more. The Story does end on a cliffhanger, but that was no surprise since it was the first book in the series. I can’t wait for the second book Catching a Wizard to be released on audible.

Kate did a great job on the narration. I loved that she used different voice/tones for each character. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I can’t wait to listen to more of her work in the future.

Well...... I have no idea what this was or where exactly it was headed. I lowkey feel like I was dropped in the middle of a series or like a spinoff of something where no one offered some background info. I'm so confused

This was just....weird. Also the MC is very childish, she says she's 19 but...yeah....no
