A solid end to the duology, overall an enjoyable read. Definitely continues with the “white savior” vibe, I wish Allie wasn’t the only “smart spy” while everyone else is always wide-eyed and in awe of her. It got old. And the fun little magical guys? I loved them! But why did you have to name them Darkings? Oof.
Graphic: Child death, Racism, Colonisation, Death, War, Grief, and Classism
Moderate: Blood, Injury/Injury detail, Violence, Genocide, Murder, and Racial slurs
Minor: Child abuse, Suicide, Pregnancy, Sexual content, Slavery, Gore, and Torture

Just as enjoyable to reread now as when I was twelve!
Graphic: Death, Grief, Police brutality, Racism, Slavery, War, and Colonisation
Moderate: Violence, Child death, Classism, and Fire/Fire injury
Minor: Rape, Vomit, Pregnancy, Infidelity, Misogyny, Murder, Sexual content, and Torture
It looks like I’ve tagged a lot, but really, besides the overarching themes of the book (including colonization/slavery/racism and war) it’s really not that bad, nor overly explicit.jgray's review against another edition
