I have never felt more seen by a line from a book than this one: "Everybody had better stop touching me or I'm going to start spin-kicking well-meaning men."

Firstly, if pregnancy is a difficult topic for you to read about, I would skip this one. Also, if you don't like to read about pregnancy, I'd skip this, but I can't believe I wasn't going to read it! It's advertised as a slow-burn, which I'm not a fan of, so I was going to skip it. But then I kept seeing good reviews for it, and let me just say that I'm so glad I picked it as one of my Book of the Month choices this month! All the characters were mature and self-aware and had depth. I loved the banter between Eve and Shep, and I also loved Eve and Willa's friendship. I want to go to a dog bar! It sounds amazing. And I loved the found family aspect. I can't wait to read more by the author! This will be one of my favourites of the year.

Protect Shep at all costs!

very cute friends-to-lovers.
eve was a bit annoying and i really wish there was more of an established baseline of her and shep's friendship before her pregnancy but the cute parts were really cute and both the boys were also unrealistically perfect.

I really liked this one! And I recently finished a book based on an accidental pregnancy that I disliked and even one chapter into Ready Or Not, I knew I was going to enjoy it.

I liked the characters so much and enjoyed the writing style of their dialogue and even when the main character talks directly to me as a reader.

The story itself wasn’t just based on a pregnancy and the very common pregnancy symptoms that exist, but it focuses on how your relationships change and how you change moving into motherhood. And although the deceased parent figure storyline was sad, it was written well and was emotional and lovely.

Overall, I thought it was a great, light easy read. Recommend!
