This book didn’t leave up to the hype. However, the MMC did.

I am a sucker for the pregnancy trope, but this just felt flat. When I found out the main character was 30 years old, my jaw dropped because I thought she was 22 max. She was ALL over the place and I just couldn’t stand her sometimes. Her baby daddy was also a hot mess. I admire Shep for loving her through everything, he was so sweet I wanted to reach into the book and hug him hard.

I do want to give a honorable mention to Nurse Louise because she was the highlight of this book.

Overall, I think I would recommend this book to someone looking for a low stakes story with a cute ending.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I ended up loving it!

This book addressed a lot of concerns that would be difficult to deal with during an accidental pregnancy from a one night stand - the doctor’s appts, waiting on the STI panel, those first trimester symptoms, the loneliness…

The friendship group really came to life, they were complex and developed characters. I was frustrated with Willa at first but I felt glad when I got to understand her character more in depth.

Shep!!! Was just honestly such a precious and thoughtful friend. You could tell he had it bad, and Eve was just kind of oblivious for awhile (decades… lol).

The audiobook narrator was amazing! She was perfect. I’d highly recommend reading in audiobook format. The writing was so funny, it had me laughing often.

Read this if you like: accidental pregnancy, friends to lovers, slow burn.

Refreshing take on the surprise pregnancy trope. It takes a very lovely and idyllic story for me to ever consider NYC as a decent place to live and this one had me dreaming of it. Shep is 100% my sexy nerdy type.
