Enjoying the pirate theme. I do think this book was repetitive with the flaws of the main characters. Hopefully in the next book we are connected with the main characters more.

The fantasy of this story was a deus ex machina and only served to get the characters out of scrapes. It could’ve been so much better. I’d rather have read the book without any fantastical elements. Vice was annoying and childish and even though the author discussed how it was a self defense mechanism, there wasn’t any emotional vulnerability to see the growth. I definitely wanted more adventure, and was disappointed. It had the potential to be amazing.

Say helloooo to my new fave bounty hunter! If I'm honest, he's also probably gonna make it onto the book boyfriend shelf, cause he's well... Delicious. No jokes, this book kept me up WAY too late for several nights in a row cause I just couldn't stop. I also held my breath to the point of turning blue multiple times
I actually just don’t care about any of these characters. Why does the magic system even exist? It doesn’t add anything to the plot. Nor does it make sense. Goodbye
