Another absolute classic Dresden novel. Most of the book was a giant battle scene. I thought it was well executed and exciting and gut wrenching. All of that would have been great, but it shines even brighter in the last 50 pages or so after the battle.

I would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate my undying love for the character of Michael Carpenter. And if don’t love him we can’t be friends.

And can we talk about the short story included at the end? Oh my god. It directly and forcefully hit me in all the feels. How dare you Mr. Butcher.

Yo bro why you gotta do me like that. I read 17 books over the course of 4 months and you did me like that. I feel betrayed. Love all the characters so much, and you had to choose the one I loved the most. I. There are no words to describe my anguish. Gutted.

If for some reason you are seeing this review before reading the series; read the series. It's not done, but god damn, it's a hell of ride. If you like complex worlds and strong character development all around this one's for you. If you like audiobooks give them a go! James Marsters (Spike from "Buffy") does an amazing job!

This is another excellent installment of the Dresden Files. Harry once again finds himself over his head and in a huge boss battle. Regular readers of the series will enjoy this new book.
