I'm so glad I finally got to read this one after having my eye on it for a while now. I'm definitely going to give her "The Ex Vows" a shot after reading this!
The concept was really interesting to me. Grandma's first love she never heard about and they go on the road trip grandma and her love were supposed to go in for their Honeymoon. Super cute, Super fun to read, and add a little frenemy tension and chemistry and you have a solid good time.
The writing was good, I felt like I could feel the tension between Noelle and Theo comes off the pages. It did help that they were academic rivals in high school to each other, so they had some history there. All in all, it was a super fun way to get out of my own head for a bit.
Highlights:
📌Forced Proximity
📌Academic Rivals
📌Road Trip
📌Grandmother's Lost Love
📌Banter

This book so accurately captured the grief of losing a grandparent you were particularly close with. I just wanted to give Noelle a hug. And Paul! Gosh, he might have been my favorite character in the whole book.
But what I really took away was the importance of photos and the written word. How those both tell the story of who we are, and how treasured they’ll be for future generations even if we may not think that to be true.

Jessica Joyce is an incredible author and everyone needs to read her stories!!!!
The chemistry between Theo and Noelle was palpable from page 1 and I loved it. The banter, the story, the “meant to be” of it all, the “in every life I’d choose your soul” vibes….
10/10. So good.
