Painful and earnest. I am glad that there is a sequel as it left at a very distressing place.

One of the saddest books i've ever read, but also one of the best. Pattyn's attempts to find her dreams are admirable, but the troubles and things that she has to overcome to get there are devastating. The end of the book is heartbreaking. After everything she had went through, she just couldn't have a happy ending. I would recommend it to anybody to read.

Literally this book was so good in the beginning. I really didn't like the ending but at the same time it was great. Ethan was perfect for pattyn!!!! I hate her dad so much!!! Actually her while family is pretty much awful. I love aunt J and Kevin. Ahh I need to read more Ellen Hopkins books!!

3.5 stars - Didn't hate it but I didn't love it

Typical teenage angst and predictable storyline, but a quick read due to free-verse configuration
