At this point in my life/feminist education I found the book to be not the most impactful, but I KNOW for a fact that this book would have been life changing if I had my hands on it in high school when I was first introduced to feminism (instead of the very white feminist book I did have access to, which still did change my life at the time, but my hope is that Hood Feminism becomes the norm for that role).

Some things I did learn:
1. The Black children are perceived as older than they are
2. That 'fierce' isn't the compliment I thought it was
3. To focus on being an 'accomplice' over an ally.

read for school, didn’t like nearly enough to read it all. I actually read a lot more than this but it wasn’t in order so it’s not really possible to track.

This should be mandatory reading for all feminists. Each chapter essay is insightful and succinct. I particularly appreciate Kendall’s point that any issue that affects women and femme people is a feminist issue. Highly recommend!
