Disappointing. Felt like Ann coasted through this one, realizing she could write more or less anything and her fans would read it -- but there simply wasn't much of a story to be told. And padding it out with pages of photos isn't a selling point (particularly when we really don't need photos of the author herself).

I like Ann Rule but this one seemed like it was written for an adolescent. She used the term hot mess in a description. It was ok.

This was my first Ann Rule book after The Stranger Beside Me. Interesting story and I loved the atmospheric way of writing Rule has.

I love Ann Rule, but this was not her best. A boring case with a boring outcome.

I will begin by saying that I liked how this book was written. I have never read about true crimes before, so it was kind of difficult to take the facts as being real. Moreover, such crimes are not at all common around the place I live, for which I am truly grateful and hopeful that this aspect will never change.
I have read some fictional books, watched some TV shows related to crimes, and my personal opinion about the facts related here is that they are by far from being spectacular, but they are quite tragical. It makes me wonder how is it possible that in a world with so many people it is possible to encounter characters so evil and malicious... I have so many questions about humans, in general, the violence which is born in their weak minds and I simply cannot understand how this thing works, in a world which we called "civilized".
Not so sure this genre is good for me... I might become a misanthrope in the end... especially when guilty people get to walk away.

Disappointing, particularly in view of Ann Rule's many earlier true crime books. Long, repetitive with no answers or great 'Ah ha' moment. Still not sure about the connection or motivation of the book's focus.

Very mildly interesting journey to nowhere.
