Each of these books gracefully shares information from the previous volumes without it being a stock recap, and I appreciate how the author weaves essential information into the story. This also means that you get each character's perspective on what has already happened, before they narrate the next stage of the adventure.
Cassie's concerns about ethics and morality throughout this story were relatable to me, and I like how she is such a thoughtful, reflective, low-key character in contrast to Rachel's impulsive, high-energy personality. They complement each other well, and it's nice to have such range in how the series represents female main characters.
The dolphin morph in this series is exciting and fun, and the ocean scenes are vivid and powerful. Since I always thought of this series as pulp fiction, I have been surprised by how well-written it is, and the descriptive passages here are amazing without detracting at all from the action.

In the fourth instalment of her Animorphs series, Applegate tackles a previously unaddressed lack of dolphin morphing. This is a much needed addition to the corpus, and one that promises to enrich the remaining 50 entries in the saga.

Re-reading the series up to where I left off, then finishing the series off. I can't believe how short these books are compared to how long they felt when I read them in elementary school!
The Animorphs reread continues! Ax has appeared! Dolphins are fun! Also, I timed it and it only takes me 45 minutes to read an Animorphs book. Fun times.
