Hot damn! I have not been swallowed in by a book in years and it took everything out of me to remove myself from reading this to do every day life stuff. I borrowed this book from the library more as a second thought, but I loved this book so much I ordered this book and the sequel immediately along with pre-ordering the third installment before I even finished it. My copy of Iron Flame comes a day too late so I went and picked up the one I had on hold at the library until my copy comes so I don't have to wait.

I appreciated that Violet's character was very true and she didn't suddenly become this great warrior (which is something that went wrong in Divergent). Violet still keeps her weaknesses but learns how to adapt to them to become a great warrior.

Is this a perfectly written book? Nope. Was it a definite five star read? Hell yeah! Love an author who is not afraid to kill people off, and if you combine that danger and tension with magic and dragons and an amazing slow-burn romance enemies-to-lovers story, then I’m all on board!
