YES I GAVE IN AND READ IT! YES I AM A XADEN STAN BLAH BLAH BLAH. Drank the koolaid… and I only want more. This sucks, book hangover. I ONLY WANT BOOKS WITH DRAGONS AND ENEMIES TO LOVERS!!!! Take aways: so bingeable, so easy, let yourself get into it.

This book is like a mash up of Harry Potter's magic and dragons, Twilight's angsty love story, and Hunger Games' ruthless body counts, all wrapped up in a military training narrative. I found it good overall, but predictable.

There are two detailed (very consensual) sex scenes described and several moderately sexual kisses, and hookups between side characters are casually referred to but not described in detail at times. There are some battle scenes, as the context of the book is amidst a war between two nations. Several unimportant characters die, and many characters are wounded and murdered. One more important character dies. The main characters have both lost someone who is dear to them, and speak a little bit about their grief. Dragons incinerate people several times.

thankfully there is NO sexual assault in this book!!!
