i wanted to like this more, but i just couldn't get into this as much as i wanted to. i think maybe reading this so soon after "kiss her once for me" was a mistake because they were just so similair, and this fell flat in comparision to kiss her once for me (for me personally). however, it was cute and sweet, and i loved the friendship between ben and margot.

ALSO not related to the book at all per se, but they talked about the show "feel good", which is so underrated and is one of my top 5 shows of all time so i'm using this review to plug that.

Bens family are perfectionists and are always asking him about a girlfriend and Margot’s mama has recently died and would be her first Christmas with out her leaving space for her and her mother to but heads along with her mother’s boyfriend of the day.

they agree to spend Christmas together in Bens families hotel as a “couple”. Morgot quickly falls for his younger sister … who does not reciprocate the feelings instead she believes Margot is a gold digger and is cheering on her brother due to overheard conversations. When she confronts Ben he admits the truth about their fake relationship and slowly falls for Morgot too and begin to go on picnic dates in the grounds.

we find a new old girl from bens childhood has returned and Margot sets them up in hopes of cheering Ben up for spoiling their fake relationship.

On Christmas Day all comes clear and the dog has puppies.

Enjoyed and left with no questions but no strong urge to find out what happens

Keep

well, for a rom-com it was, indeed, romantic. i don't know about the comedy part. maybe i don't vibe with british humour. the characters seem poorly made and childish for what's suppose to be an adult's book. but it is what it claims to be. the plot is there despite all, and i did cry at the cheesiness of that one specific part. there's christmas. there are lesbians. i do appreciate the lesbians. i didn't, however, really appreciate the rest
