Me ha subido la fiebre por este final.

I think I may have liked the movie better. That said this book kept me entertained and wanting to know what happened next. It was a fast paced read.

i’ve read this book before and i definitely think it was better the first time i read it.

it’s very good at keeping you on the edge of your seat, i couldn’t put it down and completely finished it within 3 hours.

the one thing i do hate about this book and its movie adaptation is that they both left us on some sort of a cliffhanger. the author left the possibility of a sequel
which i would’ve ate up but no such thing happened

overall i did really like the book and i like how she made the characters likable, ian is my favorite :)

I am not sure why, but I started reading Nerve with the idea that this whole game took place in some futuristic, science-fiction world far away from us. In fact though, Nerve is a fast-paced contemporary thriller. And while it kept me hooked for the most part, I felt a bit let down by the premise.

The book starts with an exciting pursuit scene that feels life-on-the-line dangerous. Then we meet Vee at her school’s theater production, in her behind-the-scenes role, minding her own little business. She’s a regular teenage girl, complaining about her curfew and crushing on one of the play’s stars, and so I immediately wondered how she would get involved into this dangerous online game.

The thing is, for most of the book, Nerve doesn’t feel dangerous. The dares are mostly silly pranks about awkward and humiliating situations. Then they become personal, and I had a hard time imagining what would be so fun, as a viewer, about watching a girl I don’t know putting down her best friend. It felt a bit silly, and I didn’t really buy it. And while Vee’s narration easily kept me reading to the end, I was looking forward to more risky dares.

The other thing that bothered me was Vee’s attitude about the whole thing. Despite watching the previous game of Nerve the month before, she kept being surprised and offended every time a new dare popped up. She acted like she couldn’t believe they would ask her such and such, yet she still accepted the dares.

Once the game changed though, it was definitely dangerous. The finale was strong and packed in a few chapters all the danger and scares I had been expecting.

So while Nerve didn’t completely hit the mark for me, it was still an entertaining game to follow – one that watchers of reality-tv would probably enjoy discovering, too!

This was such a fun little read but for once, the film was actually better, way better and I'm glad they changed a lot of the story in the film to make it exciting.

This book was in my reading list for too long and I had to read this before the movie comes out this July. I was expecting it to be really really good since I liked the idea of the plot. But I was disappointed. It also has the "Instalove" between the main characters hahaha.. Nice read though. To pass some time.
