The concept of this book is great, but the execution is absolutely terrible. The movie, which is not known for being amazing, is leaps and bounds ahead of the book with the changes they decided to make. The mc was annoying as soon as we got into the dares, and the dares themselves were pretty lackluster.
The weirdest part of this book was summed up nicely by the mc: “God, is everything tied to sex with her?” Thanks Vee, for saying exactly what I was thinking through the majority of this book. At least half of the dares the contestants go through have a sexual overtone to them, which gave me an icky feeling the entire time.
Overall, it was a quick read, but I would have liked it much better if the dares were less sexual and the author had played into the dystopian themes more.

It’s like the hunger games but instead of deadly the games are just mildly embarrassing.

Great concept with poor execution. This book could have been really good, but it just didn't go in a direction I was interested in. It was absurd and too far-fetched.

The idea of the game, Nerve, is sadistic and freaky. But from a reader's standpoint, it is thrilling and enticing. I kind of feel bad for liking it so much because it was very twisted, but it just sucked me in!
