Am I stupid or what I honestly don’t know what the heck is happening and don’t be fooled this is not a manga anymore it’s a whole ass essay. Seriously it took me a looong time to finish this volume what with the information dumping and I’m still lost.

There's a bit of horror to start off the plot, and then a lot of planning. Still enjoyable, though, and pretty tense.

That's it? No more? Only now that I realize how much I missed Kurapika, he hasn't changed a bit! Although I wasn't satisfied because some characters were completely ignored, I must admit, this was a fabulous start for an extraordinary arc. Well, that is of course, if Togashi gets better and continue this series. All hunter x hunter fans are probably praying for that. I mean hxh can't be forever on hiatus, especially after this volume or rather chapters introduced a great potential... I also need to process everything, so much information! While the chimera ants arc was about Gon and Killua, the Dark Continent's is going to be about Kurapika, Leorio, and the zodiacs. Well, let's face it, what I like the most about Yoshihiro Togashi is that he's realistic. Main characters don't always win, training doesn't mean success, unlike other mangas if someone they love/care about gets hurt they won't miraculously obtain a new power and defeat the threat. It's where mind games, tactics, and strategies are as important as physical strength, if not even more sometimes. That's why I understood what happened with Gon but now, I really hope some miracle would happen and he
joins his friends and also Killua, I waited for every chapter to reveal something about him but nothing... And imagine teaming up with the Zodiacs against Ging!! It would be f*cking awesome!
. Also, Hisoka. Hope he joins them to have fun. You know how he thinks. Please, Togashi get better soon. It's been almost two years. Show them that nothing can surpass hxh and it'll always be the best.

3.5 stars! Really liked it, but the arc is just beginning so the story is in the setup.

Edit: actually I changed this to four stars, only because I love this story endlessly and this is the first volume I read

The dark continent seems interesting, I just wish they would get there already. Way too much talking and going over information about everyone's plans and motivations. I wish there was an anime version of this arc...
