YES VAMPIRE!!!!

But.....can we see him more in next book? I like new sexy badass Simon than bored dumb Simon.

I read this book a few months after City of Bones so I was quite confused in the beginning, trying to remember what had happened in the first book and what it was all about. However once I got into it I loved it! I loved the pacing and the action.

this book wasn’t as nostalgic as city of bones, but it was still a really good read. the adventures kept me hooked, and i was truly amazed by clary’s talent with the runes—it just added so much to her character. and there's jace, who’s clearly terrified of losing clary. i was seated throughout the clace siblings drama. i can't wait for the revelation....

AND luke also deserves the recognition for being the best father figure, always looking out for everyone.

isabelle, though—she completely stole the spotlight for me. i love her sass, her confidence, and how she balances the team. favorite character in the series so far. 

there were also new names dropped in this book, and now I’m so curious to see if they’ll show up in the next one.

This book is (unintentionally?) hilarious. Jace feels like an annoying little kid throwing tantrums the entire book. For a 17-year-old with so much life experience and responsibilities, he sure acts like he's 12 all the time. Anyway, the character relationships and plot were a complete mess. Though I will say I'm enjoying the worldbuilding around the various Downworlder species. It's been a fun adventure despite how much I am cracking up over the awkward melodrama of Clary and Jace thinking they're siblings. I'm 10000% it's gonna be revealed that they're not actually related but omg I am cackling over some of these lines.

ben due pagine di interazioni fra magnus e alec, un bel breakup fra clary e simon, valentine che fa la diva, simon che muore e rinasce e rimuore circa quattro volte, jace e simon having strange sexual tension, e jace che pensa che se lui e clary scappino in qualche modo smetterebbero di essere fratelli? give it to me right now. peccato per imogen che ha rovinato la festa morendo due nanosecondi prima del necessario
