This was definitely pitched to me as a grown up Harry Potter which it is not. I'm all about morally gray characters and dark fantasy but this was really just a whole lot of bullying and unhealthy attraction. Not sure what the huge appeal is or why people are so obsessed with this series. It's not terrible but its not great either. If you're into bullying it might be for you but I'll be moving on to something less traumatic rather than exposure myself to 8 more 500-1100 page books.

Never ever ever again. I will never understand the hype for this book.
First. Why is this book really only covering 2 weeks? Really? I get why there's so many books now.
Can we also come up with an original thought without ripping off Harry Potter/Hogwarts? Or without the most obvious names? The fire weilding professor is Professor Pyro? *eye roll* Faebook? Really. Its giving juvenile writing and high school scenarios.
Why does Diego have to insert a Spanish word into every sentence just to make sure as the reader you remember he's Latino? That's so disrespectful and stereotypical. Give the characters real character development. Not cringe writing.
The heirs are ridiculous too. I get it's supposed to be bully romance but this is high school cringe bullying. Also, not asking for consent is not cool. There's no redeeming qualities for these boys.
Overall, not my cup of tea and I wish I could erase it from my mind.

I don’t even know how to describe this book. It doesn’t know what it wants to be. Harry Potter? Twilight? Percy Jackson? It literally has every type of fantasy theme and creature you can think of, to the point where absolutely nothing makes sense. An air wielding Pegasus? You’ve got it. Water wielding Medusa? Sure.
Overall, the book was interesting and I’m curious to know what happens but it was SO incredibly cheesy and everyone is lame. It’s also reads super YA.
Also I read the physical book not the audiobook but can’t find that copy on here?
