What a wonderful end to a wonderful series. I wanted to take my time reading this because I didn't want the series to end, but I couldn't help it! I read the last third in just a few days.
I thought this book stayed true to the Montague brand with all of the traveling, drama, and chaos. It was also so nice to see some of the characters from the previous books. The ending was perfect. I'm sad to say goodbye to this series, but I'm glad I got to experience it.
Just be aware that this book is very long so if you don't like to carry around big books, then maybe consider getting the e-book!

Really disappointed by this one. It had a very different feel to the other two, and the descriptions of anxiety should have come with a whopping great trigger warning.
Considering how much I liked the other two books in this series I was pretty sure I was going to like this before I even read it. And, yeah, I loved it. No surprise there xD
Like the other two, it's a book about adventure with a hint of magic and mystery, but also a lot of heart and interesting, well-rounded characters. It was definitely fun to see what everyone was up to after so many years had passed. And, unsurprisingly, I really liked Adrian. While I can't relate to ALL of the ways his anxiety manifests, I certainly recognise myself in more than one. And that stuff isn't easy to deal with, so I definitely feel for the poor boy.
What I like the most about this book is that it's more about sibling and family relationships than anything else, but also the fact that Adrian isn't magically fixed at the end. His anxiety doesn't just go away, because that's not realistic and also not a very comforting thing to read for the people who struggle with those kinds of difficulties — who don't have that kind of magic fix. But it's not without hope, either. Adrian clearly gets better by learning methods and strategies to make his everyday life easier and, more importantly, to be kinder to himself. And, in the end, I think that's a wonderful message.
Also, I loved Adrian and Louisa. Definitely here for their romance. It was sweet and I love that, sometimes, the story isn't about the main character finding the love of his life — she's already there — he just happens to have other stuff to deal with. Like suddenly finding out he's got two siblings. That was clearly the more interesting story to tell.
So yeah! I liked it! It was fun to return to this world again and I will miss it <3

A very good portrayal of what it's like to have anxiety. My least favorite of the trio.
Honestly, did this book took me one and a half month to read??
Loved this book, though. It's nice to meet Monty and Felicity 20 years later and continue their story. Adrian's arc is also interesting on its own. Full of adventures like always.

This review will mostly be written via voice to text on my phone because my cat is snuggling with me and I absolutely can't get up right now You understand.
ANYWAY!
This title is a little bit of a misnomer. Shipwrecks there are but scandals? What could be scandalous about my poor anxious autistic son meeting his siblings for the first time.
And that's a thing. I love stories about siblings. They make me cry. I love siblings so much. I have siblings and so stories about siblings always cut me to my very core. And this is the first of the Montague siblings series they're really focuses on sibling dynamics. And it's absolutely glorious .
I love them all.
I did admittedly skip over a lot of the very thought spirally sections because I have my own mental illnesses and I really couldn't deal with Adrien's on top of that.

This book is told in first person and the narrator has debilitating anxiety.

But like if HE has anxiety, and I have anxiety, WHO'S DRIVING THE PLOT???
I'm so emotional right now, no one talk to me. I don't want it to be over
What a fun book, but more importantly what a fulfilling representation and reflection of many peoples experiences. I am so glad I followed this series through to the end. The author’s message at the end warned my heart.
I enjoyed this. Many adventures like all the other books in the series. It was good to catch up with Monty and Felicity and Adrian’s growth through the book was well done. Still plenty of pirates and mysteries.
