I don’t know if my expectations were too high because I love Splintered so much, but this book has me feeling all kinds of meh. I don’t particularly have any interest in any of the characters or where this story is going. DNF at 48%.

This book gets a lot of hate, and I get it. It's not the greatest, but I didn't necessarily passionately hate this book. It was interesting and in some ways was a fun, wacky ride. To be honest though, most POTO adaptions as a whole, outside of Webber's and a few rare movies, actually feel in spirit with the book and consequently satisfy me. I would recommend this book more so for people who like teen fantasy, than a Phantom of the Opera fan.
dark slow-paced

It took me just shy of a month to get through this book. Gah.

For me, the pacing was dirge-like and overly detailed, which made me sad because I love a creepy retelling, but alas. Probably more like 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding up.

The plus side of reading this book: I’ve had The Phantom of the Opera's OST on replay for the last 2 days :D

this book and I have so many connections, one of my faves of the year

3.5 Stars
I have a love hate relationship with this book. Like the first part really dragged and I was struggling to get through it but then the second half had me mesmerized. It was good but slow. It would start really good then get super slow. But over all a good book

I loved this book! I am a big fan of The Phantom of the Opera and this retelling was amazing. I loved the supernatural spin on it and the relationship between Rune and Estalon.

DNF at page 72

I have never been a fan of the phantom of opera, but I've always considered obsessive love an interesting factor in stories. I kinda got bored with this book and started to skim read. And then
DNF it.

RoseBlood is no where near as good as I was expecting. The summary made it one of my most anticipated reads, but sadly it is too basic for me. The idea of it and the vibe are on point, but there is too much in the plot that I've seen way too many times. For example the no cell phone reception, the teenage girl with power or whatever she can't control, the clique of mean girls, and etc. By about halfway through I was just bored by the whole thing.
