There were too many moments that made me cringe. I think I’ll give book two a try but only because there isn’t any other book on my TBR that I’m dying to get into right now.

This is the third book in a row I've read that has a second chance romance after a dumb high school decision tore them apart. I didn't enjoy it the first time and I didn't enjoy it the third... I think the saving grace of this story was thst Maddox was an absolute simp and it was adorable and so sweet.
The audio was amazing. Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom are probably the reason I stuck this one out, they are two of my favorites in the audio world.

This was a great read for me. I enjoyed the story, I liked the main characters, and the pacing was great. I’m not a fan of time jumping, but the flashbacks in this really worked for me and gave context when I needed it. I would have liked knowing what the fallout when they were teenagers was earlier in the story, but that’s because I can be a bit impatient.
I also enjoyed the side characters and the clear setup of future couples in the series. I will definitely be continuing the series.

Yeah this made me cringe a lot.
He calls her CURLY FRY! All the time. Curly fry.
Sadly I kept reading after the first time he called her that. I’m just happy it’s over.

This is book one in the second generation series. I was hesitant bc sometimes the second gen just isn’t as good as the first round.
But dare I say this round may just be better?! I love that in all of Hannah’s book there isn’t this big thing the guy messes up, there’s outside problems and they solve them together.
I love Maddox’s devotion to Braxton, and I loved that all the first gen characters still make an appearance!
Can’t wait for Cooper and Addie’s story!!

**Spoilers!! ** This book was amazing and would have been one of my favorite hockey romances EVER except for the choking. Ugh, WHY?!? You mean to tell me that a VIRGIN guy that holds this woman to such high esteem as has waited his entire life for her gets his chance and instantly wants to choke her the first time they have sex?!? No. It’s stupid, and completely unnecessary.
It ruined the book for me. Everything else was perfect. The cast was well thought out, the acting was impeccable, the plot was great. The choking was gross. There’s ways to add spice without that.
Just as a heads up, over 40% of girl ages 14-17 are now experiencing choking during sex. (From the book: “Yes, Your Kid.” By one of the top sexual researchers in the US.) How you presented it in the book isn’t an ok way for someone to experience that in real life. Set healthier standards and expectations. Or perhaps leave it out altogether. I have friends who own a romance bookstore and middle school girls come in asking for hockey romance books like this all the time.
