Goodness, this was boring. I love hockey romance. I love plus size FMCs. But this was... Boring. Both our main characters were bland. There was no chemistry, and for the love of all things good, "curly fry" is a horrid nickname for a plus size character, even if it's supposed to be referencing her hair. I also hated that Maddox continued to call Braxton "baby girl" after she asked him to stop multiple times. Zero respect from him.

I normally love Teddy's narration, but I can't stop thinking about how less than three hours into the book he pronounced "gush" as "goosh." 🙃

"I loved you at a hundred pounds, and I will love you at a thousand..."

Sir...

*sigh

I feel like this author fine-turned this book specifically so i can dislike it.

Cause there's a trope in here that everyone knows i absolutely cannot stand and this book is laced with it, and the trope is written exactly the way i dislike it the most.

Lmao. Thanks, author!

This book was not what I was expecting!

This story was so damn beautiful from start to finish as they navigated through everything they went through!

I highly recommend this book!

I won’t lie, at the start of this book, I was determined I was going to give this one 5 stars.
The fake dating aspect was really well done and their tension was literally insane. I loved Maddox at the start, because he was so obsessed with Braxton, but wouldn’t allow himself to be true to his feelings. His love for her is undeniably one of the greatest ones I’ve ever read about.
However, firstly the reason they started fake dating was so uncreative in my opinion and also seemed kind of far fetched, as well as the reason why they lost contact and kind of became enemies after that. It just didn’t make much sense to me.
Also, when they finally started confessing their mutual feelings and began fake dating, the book got really boring and cringy in my opinion. Like excuse me, but the spice sense were so freaking uncomfortable and cringe I was literally close to dnfing. The dirty talk was so unnecessary and made Maddox seem extremely unattractive…
And the fact that the main character Braxton kept talking badly about her body also made this book less enjoyable to me, because we get it, you’re a little bit insecure, in a way everyone is, but you don’t have to say it every second page especially when Maddox tells you over and over again, that he thinks you’re perfect the way you are.
Either way I still enjoyed reading this romance as a change from what I currently read. Also for my first Hockey romance, I have to say I did enjoy that aspect of their relationship and the story itself.
