It was an entertaining love story but i gave it half a star more cause there’s a dog named Hades in the story 🖤

if you’re looking for a sports romance, this one’s it! and what’s better than a hockey romance? a friends to strangers to lovers AND fake dating hockey romance! my favorite tropes in one book!

maddox is a hockey player in the NHL and he gets into some trouble that may affect his contract for next season. the only way to clean up his public image is to fake date his childhood best friend, braxton, the one who betrayed him and left 8 years ago. surely this calls for a disaster, right…? with the way things were left off the last time they’ve seen each other, do they have what it takes to fool everyone with their fake relationship? what does it take for maddox to forgive braxton?

the love and connection between maddox and braxton was undeniable. after years of hurt and how much time has changed between them, the love they have for one another remained. the flashback scenes made me feel so many emotions. maddox is a sweetheart and he’s so romantic. the way he makes braxton feel so worthy and loved is everything! the banter between the two is so witty and fun. the longing, pining, and angst were so so good too! the two of them are the missing pieces to each other’s lives. they’re perfect together and they’re the definition of “it’s always been you.”

i love the universe and felt attached to all of the characters! i adore the side characters, they have the best tight knit family and friends dynamic. i can’t wait for maddox’s sister, adalyn’s book. her wild and adventurous personality reminds me so much of daisy calloway!

thank you hannah cowan for the arc in exchange for an honest review <3

I absolutely loved this! This is book one of the 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, but can be read as a standalone.

I really connected with Braxton, and her insecurities. I love that a curvy fmc is represented, and she’s portrayed as sexy! Ugh, I LOVE Maddox, seeing his walls slowly come down, and let Braxton in made my heart happy. I love his tattoo 🥹 I love that they didn’t let what their families think deter them from their love. I can’t wait to read the other Hutton siblings books! I’m obsessed now, and mad I waited so long to read this series.

This was such a cute and cozy romance with some of the steamiest dirty dialogues! Reminded me of the vibes of Hannah’s last Duology with the comfort level.
Maddox and Braxton are literally soulmates. The finest example of one.

The writing and the quotes describing their love were so poetic and had me “awww” the entire book. Their passion for each other…PERFECT! Also loved that one extra POV we got from a beloved character (I screamed!). The drama was realistic and the fact that Maddox trusted Braxton so deeply made it even more perfect.

I can’t wait for Cooper’s story next and more than that…NOAH HUTTON WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME. Already so hooked with his character!!!
