Not enough Marple! Also I was surprised by the first person narrative.

This is my first Miss Marple by A.C. I thought the book was okay, engrossing enough, but the characters lack the development that they have in the other novels I've read by her. Also, Miss Marple herself was in maybe ten pages of the entire book. Very odd.

A fun mystery where I thought I’d figured it out early on but Christie got me again. Marple doesn’t show up until about ⅔ of the way through, but lots of village characters leading up to that.

This is a fun and quick read, a keen analysis of a small town England and a great Agatha story. I wasn't aware it was a Miss Marple because she doesn't get to appear up until the third part of the book when all the characters are so messed up the Reverend's wife needs to call for an expert and she chooses Miss Marple to untagle it all. And she does, all right.
I loved the dynamic of the characters and even though some things I guessed, others I was at total loss. Agatha is so good at pointing fingers at everyone and giving them motives and at the same time telling you they couldn't be.
In this case, after a whole town recieves anonymous letters a woman kills herself after one false accusation. Everyone thinks it's suicide but then a maid is found dead. And she had seen something she wanted to tell another maid...
