I really liked the concept and the plot of this retelling! It could’ve been tightened up a bit and dragged a little at points but very clever and creative. Julias perspective especially on Winston was really interesting. However there were some parts that dragged and were too miserable without purpose

It's an interesting companion piece to the original, but it just doesn't flow or read the same as 1984. It gave some more background to the world, but it just didn't feel... Right.
