Emily Henry writes her books for me. the way her characters speak to me is insane.

I loved this book so much, it's definitely a new favourite.

I want to keep January and Gus inside my pocket and protect them with my life.

I also want a Gus all to myself. he's so... perfect. I need a man who is as obsessed with me as he is with January.

this book made me cry, laugh, swoon... I literally don't know what else to say. I don't even know what to do with myself after reading this, someone send help.

this may be only my second Emily Henry book that I read, but she's already one of my all time favourite authors.

Beach Read (much like the title says)

Honestly, I wasn't feeling this one as much.  The characters were okay but at times really annoying.  The relationship felt rushed and a bit too forced.  After they admit their feelings it’s revealed they always felt that way since they were in college… it just kinda comes out of nowhere.  Then there was the ending.  I love romance books as much as the next person but that was way too cliché and just really annoying.  I will say I did like some of the banter was pretty good and I did like the cozy summer vibes it had.

(First Person POV)

Really fun read with surprising depth for a rom-com. I just get frustrated when a story's main conflict boils down to a lack of communication.

I LOVED this book. I read this book shortly after reading Emily Henry's "Book Lovers" and loved this one almost as much. This one was a little harder for me to get into at first, because I felt like the chapters were a little longer than Book Lovers' but once I got into it, I could NOT put it down. I loved Gus so much. I think January was very relatable (a fellow struggling writer lol). I loved the diversity of the cast. Everything about this book was mwah. I highly recommend if you're looking for something with the rivals to lovers trope (one of my personal favorites).
