Meh. Both characters were kind of annoying? The funniest and more interesting character was the best friend. Whitest story in a while.

I love Emily Henry books. All of them. Every single one.
I don't care if some of the plot is contrived (I got a little annoyed with January for the perceived mixed signals from Gus. I just kept reminding myself that she was grieving), or if some of the plot points are a bit rushed (Naomi??). I am HERE for all of Henry's work!!
I picked this for my Reading Challenge "Features the Water" but there is only one scene or so with water. So I used it for my "Treat Yo'Self" category. Because I love Emily Henry.
The steam level: perfect for me.
The yum: pining heartthrob
No yucks/icks.
Well developed characters as always. I also love that Henry chooses a real world situation, like the death of a parent, to center her stories. Thie novel also had a bit of a twist with the secret love shack. I feel like, with the love shack, it could have been used in a silly way. Henry writes contemporary characters and their problems so well, nothing seems silly except for a few comical scenarios. I think that has to do with the plot development.
I'm parsing Henry's works as a once in a while read because I want to savor them. :D

This took me a while to get into but the last chunk of the book was great! Good themes portrayed but I wish the other characters were more developed

Overall cute and would recommend <3
