Sticking with this series is a commitment. The ending makes me want to keep reading, but getting there is such an exhausting experience. There is so much travel back and forth without much plot movement forward. The spice level is high - so if that’s what you’re looking for it’s great. If you’re looking for the story, the first 150 pages and the last 160ish pages is all you need.

Really hitting my stride with this series! I’ve decided that each book is about 100 pages too long in the middle which prevents me from devouring the books and reviewing them as “fast paced”. Poppy has certainly grown on me and I find myself wanting more information about the world/species within it.
I’m not a reader who spends too much mental energy on guessing the plot twists or outcomes of books but unraveling their secrets towards the end of the book had me INVESTED.
