This book sent me through the entire spectrum of emotions. It was everything I wanted fro. Haymitch's back story. It broke my heart in the best possible way.

Utterly brilliant. Suzanne Collins has crafted such characters in a world so tangible because of its parallels in emotion to the present day. This is technically a prequel but I would say that the series must be read in the order of publication rather than chronologically.
