A good little short story that'll kill an hour. Good fun if you want to explore a little more of the Reckoners series. Not necessary for the series as a whole, but you won't get a lot out of it if you didn't read the first in the series first.

Not necessary to read when reading the Reckoners series. The books were better quality when compared to this.

It was probably a novella or shortstory. Pretty good. Sanderson's analysis of how powers worked is great. I'd have liked more interaction between superpowered people. But, the way he's set up his world for superpowered people to only be villains pretty much eliminates that.

Not much character development. Probably to short for Sanderson's way of writing.

This is what I like from a novella. It takes that characters and story and gives us more. Mitosis is definitely a cool villain. 90

What a fun story with all the action I enjoy in a book like this. I am glad the second one is coming out in a month or so!?

A hilarious, vivid storytelling of David’s life after Steelheart, packed with his horrid puns, it was an adventure following his reckless journey. This continued on Sanderson’s trend to write “smart” books, stories with deeper understandings and great detail, whose purpose isn’t as shallow as pure entertainment. I never really got bored of the story or characters, despite having discovered them thoroughly in the previous novel.
