Not bad. The Romeo and Juliette homage was a little ham fisted at times. The bug descriptions were TRULY disgusting. Enjoyable enough but I’m not sure I’m compelled to read part 2.

I really just didn’t click with the writing or any of the characters. I can tell this was a young author’s first novel, and I think it needed another round of edits before being published. On the whole, the writing lacked maturity and tried to overcompensate with too many poorly written metaphors. 
Despite being disappointed, I would give this author another chance in the future as I was drawn to the concept, and I hope experience has improved her writing.
