What a great volume! Finally some good stuff after lots of filler volumes in a row. We have the now-infamous

dance scene where not only are the kids dressed up and gorgeous, but Anya confesses her secret!! (Tho Damian doesn’t believe her). Plus, we got an incredibly bittersweet love story/background on Henry and Martha. My romance-loving self was having a great time, but even beyond that,

each of those characters are now so much richer due to this volume. Yes, it’s filler especially compared to what I can only assume will be volume 15, but this volume adds dimension to the story.

4 stars - It was really good

This volume starts out with revealing Anya’s test scores, which were both exciting and disappointing for her. Then we get a story about the Forgers going on a ski trip and instead Loid ends up solving a murder. These were fun little slice of life stories.

This volume finishes with the backstory of Mr. Henry Henderson, Anya’s teacher, and his time in this school and friendship with Martha, who is Becky’s butler. I never expected we would get his backstory or that it would be so emotional because it was during the war between Westalis and Ostania. Also, I was so surprised at how badass Martha was and that she was not only a ballet dancer but also a soldier. I really got hooked to Henry and Martha’s story and need to know what happens next for them after that ending!
