Now that the semester is finally over, I'm rewarding myself with some light-hearted romance. The first one I indulged was this manga called Seven Days. It's about two high school boys falling in love with each other in the span of a week. It's cute, sweet, and slightly cheesy, but it's definitely hard to hate.
I love reading angst, and at times, tragic endings can be a guilty pleasure of mine. However, I recently finished a book for my history finals, and it left me with nothing but grief. So, as much as I'm a fan of sad endings, it's one of those times when I'm in dire need of a happy one, if only to keep my faith in humanity going. While I'm all for life-changing existential novels and dramatic fantasy epics, sometimes we just need a simple and heartwarming story to turn to after a long day, and that's exactly what this was.

Dumb dumb teen boys can't communicate.
I genuinely love the movie adaptation for this so much I had to buy the manga and I was not disappointed. This won't be for everyone -- it has really quick build up, miscommunication, and (my personal favorite) an abundance of yaoi hands -- but it's a really cute story nonetheless. It's comforting and a quick read and it makes me feel warm inside.

It was a cute concept, but the art really made the boys look so creepy it was kind of hard to really feel much for the characters other than revulsion at their tiny heads and how strangly long their necks were.
