One of those books that comes along when you need it and is a pleasure to read and escape into.

Não vou pensar muito sobre a nota. É um livro muito gostosinho sobre jornada de personagem e não tão focado no romance, tava precisando disso. Funcionou, terminei a história e abracei o livro com muito carinho!

Lighthearted romantic read. Enjoyable narrator.

This was my first Jenny Colgan and I loved the setting (Scottish countryside) and book focus. Her books will be my guilty pleasure!

Borrowed from PVLD, recommended through Modern Mrs Darcy (20 wonderful books about books and bookstores).

There is nothing fancy in the writing here. Yet, this was adorable, sweet, a lovely setting and characters you actually want to cheer for. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. The initial premise broke my heart (Libraries matter! We have to support them!), but I can absolutely see the appeal of the overall story/author.

"I just want to work with books," Rita said. "That's all I've ever wanted to do."

"He could take away her sex life, he could take away her piece of mind, her hopes for happiness, her home, her livelihood. But NOBODY was taking away her reading."

While I like her writing style, I started to get bored about halfway through.

The main character lets people commit crimes
(which leads them to loose their job and get deported)
for her in the name of following her dream.

Audiobook: I enjoyed this, loved the storyline about the book van but it got a bit soppy near the end…although who can argue with a handsome farmer in a kilt?? Nice light easy read/listen. Entertaining.
