Efter det isländska tungsinnet blev jag tvungen att pigga upp mig med något helt annat och det lyckades verkligen med Jenny Colgan. Detta är ingen genre som jag läser så ofta men det är en väldigt söt och rolig historia.

3.5 rounded up—Forever have a soft spot for a charming female protagonist who finds herself and her voice. Throw in a book lover and a book store, and I’ll happily read along.

A nice light read, perfect for the beach. Love the focus on reading and books and the many references to specific ones. Storywise, a little predictable for my taste to be more than 3 to 3.5 stars.

Jenny Colgan doesn't disappoint. like other readers of the book I really want to move to Scotland now and run a bookshop out of a van. There will be bookshops all over the Scottish Highlands at this rate!

When Nina loses her job as a librarian because the library wants younger, flashier, staff who can reach the 'non-readers' (people who DON'T read even though they CAN read), she follows her dream. She buys a van, fills it with books, and moves to Scotland to open a traveling bookshop.

This is our first read of the year in our Bookclub, The Chatty Southern Bookworms and it did NOT disappoint!

Nina, a librarian knows that she’s about to be out of a job and her brain starts thinking. What can she do? Where can she go? Libraries are closing faster than she can think. So, she takes a step and becomes her own boss and is fulfilling her dream, unbeknownst to her coming out of her shell and truly blooming in her new home. The Bookshop on the Corner follows her new life in her new home and the cute and interesting characters she meets.

I truly enjoyed this book and will definitely read the next in the series. If you’re a “bookworm” and have always dreamed of having your own bookshop, this is the book for you! It kept me reading and interested, I started reading and before I knew it, I’d read half the book!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a palate cleanser, and exactly what a person needs to soothe the soul. As a hot cup of tea on a cold winter day, it embraces you with its first pages, and opens the reader up to a world that is inviting and filled with characters quirky and kind. The perfect definition of a gentle book in a world that is often chaotic, Colgan writes characters that want to be read, and characters flawed and wonderful.

Satisfying chic lit. Girl re-invents herself and some romance thrown in.
