I absolutely loved the author's style of storytelling and I would have given the book 5 stars had it not been for the intermittent crude language and sex scenes/references. I feel a book can be romantic without needing to portray sexual acts. I would love to read more from this author but minus the foulness.

Nina matches readers with the perfect book. It is her favorite part of being a librarian but, when the library branch where she works closes, she finds she either must reinvent herself to fit the new media center library mold or take a chance on starting her own bookmobile. When the perfect van is found in Scotland, Nina takes a leap of faith not only in starting the book van but also in moving to the small town in Scotland where she finds the van.
Needless to say, as a librarian who loves doing reader’s advisory, this book just yelled to me. I discovered it in my search to find a “book about books” for the 2017 Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. I was so excited to read a story about a librarian who turns bad luck on its head and takes on a new challenge all while recommending books that change a person’s life.
Sadly, I just felt like it should have been more. There were missed opportunities to tell so many side stories about people who visited Nina’s van. Of course, the exception was Ainslee and her brother, Ben, and that was a terrific exception. There also was not as much book recommending as I would have expected given the blurb. I was expecting my TBR to grow by miles as I added books mentioned within the story but, sadly, I didn’t add a single one.
I enjoyed Nina’s journey but the romances fell flat and seemed forced. The setting was amazing and a story in & of itself. In fact, the setting was so well done, I was ready to hop a plane to Scotland. I had never thought about the long days and nights given its latitude. I could easily get used to all that daylight, right?
Too many missed opportunities here. It was a cozy read but I feel like I cannot even rightly justify marking off the Book Riot Challenge with this title.

Library audio, cozy book. Has romance but it's about building the life you want for yourself.
This is an okay, decent book. I wanted to love it much more than I did. It just did not have a wow factor for me. I enjoyed it but could have just as easily put it down midway through and not cared.
The author had me hooked with her “message to readers” on the front page. Its a cheesy, romantic, cozy read for book lovers, and I genuine loved every bit. It also made me crave a trip to the Scottish highlands, so that’s a bonus too.

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the writing, it was lovely, and as a kid I would take out books (and still do) from the library like they were closing their doors next week. My personal record is 13. So I thoroughly enjoyed how nerdy she was and the story was cute. It was some of the plot that lost me, let alone her very good luck in making some very poor decisions (let's buy a commerical van without getting any permits)... The two romances fell flat for me. Lennox is not Mr Darcy although I felt that's where they were going with him. Maybe it was lost in the writing but, that wasn't banter and verbal foreplay, the guy was a dick. And Marek... My eyes rolled so far back in my head they might be stuck.
I'll read the sequel, it was a two week book at the library so I didn't want to get it this time around.
Oh, and Kate... Eyeroll again. Of course let's make the soon to be ex-wife a terrible bitch. Who for some reason calls her husband by his last name?? I was more upset about the book landing in the mud than any other part of this story.
