I really enjoy how Robert Crais keeps you hooked throughout the whole book. He flips back and forth through the characters so you can see each person's point of view and what they are doing to move the story along. This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and I plan on reading so many more.

Good Mystery. I loved Elvis and Pike. They’re good people.
The Wanted is a very enjoyable installment in Crais’ excellent Elvis Cole series. There was not as much action as many of the books but the pacing and writing carry the usual high quality. A low 4 star detective mystery thriller.
"It seemed like a simple care before the bodies started piling up..."
Elvis Cole, private detective, is back. He's contacted by a single mother who found suspicious items in her teen son's bedroom--a rolex that costs at least $60k and thousands of dollars in cash. She hires Elvis to investigate and find out what is going on with her son. Except Elvis starts to unravel a complicated case involving a burglary ring and witnesses are being murdered. Who is also investigating these crimes and eliminating people?
The story is quick and fun to read. Elvis Cole and his partner Joe Pike are two of my favorite characters ever written in a book, so it was nice having them back. The characters are all well-developed and felt real, even the hitmen.

I love reading good stories effortlessly told by masters of a genre. Robert Crais is a master. Maybe I enjoy his writing style because it resembles mine: tending toward sparse rather than wordy; lean and mean. But he also has created two iconic PIs--Elvis Cole and Joe Pike. A seamlessly integrated team that are both extremely competent but also flawed and with great moral character.
The plot of this book is also well conceived. It unrolls naturally and has enough-plot twists to keep you reading. Crais also adds in some realistic supporting characters--Devon and Tyson Conner; Amber, the airheaded girlfriend. and Harvey and Stemms, the bad guys who were chasing Tyson and Amber.
This is a genuine page-turner that immerses you into the story and setting in a few pages and takes you on an outstanding literary ride around Los Angeles.

This book hooked me in...This is book 17 in the Elvis Cole series but the first that I have read. It read fine as a stand alone story but there wasn't too much insight into the characters.
Elvis is hired to look into how a teenager at high school has suddenly come into large amounts of cadh and expensive clothes. This begins a rollercoaster of a mission to get to the bottom of it.
I would like to read more by the author, it was fast paced and I enjoyed the writing style.
Thank you to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster Australia for an advance copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinions.

It is always a treat to start a Robert Crais book and see what kind of ride he will take us on this time. It is even better when it is an Elvis Cole and Joe Pike book. This may not be the best book in the series but it doesn't matter, you can't help but look forward to the time you get to spend with Elvis and Joe and always be a bit sad when you reach the end of the book.
