Of course, I would start a series with the third book and never the first. Either way, I enjoyed the book, and I cannot wait to go back and read the others now.

As much as I love both of the characters, Justin is by far my favorite. While I understand why she couldn't, I just kept wishing Emma would finally open herself up, let her walls down a bit, and fully let Justin in. And while she technically did, I wish it had been sooner and not way later in the book, though I'm glad she was able to finally find happiness and finally put up boundaries against her mom.

I wish we had more moments with her newly-found family. I would have loved to see her interact with them a bit more.

P.S. Fuck Emma's mom, like seriously.

I’ve seen this book everywhere and finally decided to read it. Liked it more than I thought I would. Was glad the narrative involved her working on herself before getting into a serious relationship.

3 stars for me, which makes me seem like a hater I know…I liked the characters but the story wasn’t believable to me. The third act breakup was so intense it didn’t feel like the ending had any real reward. The mmc was down sooo bad that I started to feel really bad for him instead of rooting for the fmc like I should have.

Honestly, maybe I’m not a fan of duel perspective books bc the only book I’ve liked so far from Abby Jimenez was yours truly.

This was fine. Very much focussed on the main character’s relationship with her mother and her mental health journey- this all felt quite repetitive after a while. I liked the main romance and got invested in it towards the end but the first two thirds were really slow. Just okay.
