**Most of my reviews contain detailed Content Notes (including CW/TW) sections, which may include spoilers.  I have tried to mark them appropriately, but please use caution.**

3.5/5

Ebook

Summary:  Part scifi, part HR-cosplay western - Alien rancher and veteran decides to marry the local shopkeeper’s human daughter - partly because he likes her, and partly to have someone help wrangle his horde of former comrades at arms and property.

Stats: Scifi, M/F, open door, part of a series and should probably be read in order.

Notes: This was light, a bit silly and fun - though ridiculous, somewhat underdeveloped and rather nonsensical.  I don’t feel inspired to seek out the rest of the series right away, but I’d return on a sick or rainy day for some easy entertainment.

OTT and Spoilery Content Notes:
creative anatomy, marriage of convenience, veteran MMC, found family/band of brothers, alcohol, war (in the past, briefly described), fistfight, anal play (very brief), injury and minor medical care, mention of death in war, pregnancy/infant/breastfeeding

If you love the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers AND Aliens you will love this book.  It follows a similar story line and is super sweet and cute.

The author does a great job melding old-west themes into sci-fi stories. This one takes place on a planet far far away where earth settlers have recreated the old-west in their settlement and are bit leery of the aliens that settled next store.

It was only alright for me. The plot felt super fast passed so there wasn't a lot of depth to the story. Zero to sixty. They know each other before the story begins but it seems like they had a strictly business relationship. (Shop clerk and shopper.) I don't think there was any flirting or even casual talk outside the transactions. Then in the next breath they are married and having the best sex of their lives...
It's great if you need a light pallet cleanser. I was just hoping for a little more.
